About the researcher

Ethan Ray is an Industrial-Orgnaizational Psychologist with a Ph.D. from the Graduate Center, City University of New York. He specializes in employee assessment, talent management, and organizational well-being, with a strong focus on leveraging behavioral science and data to drive meaningful change in the workplace. His research has explored the intersection of technology and work, including asynchronous video interviews, remote leadership, and employee engagement. His doctoral disseration studied the effectiveness of leadership behaviors on employees’ perceptions of leaders in varying distanced work arrangements.

Ethan’s work has been published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology and presented at national conferences such as SIOP, APA, IPAC). He has partnered with Fortune 500 companies and high-growth tech firms to lead initiatives in performance management, employee listening, and leadership development. Currently, he serves as a Senior People Scientist at Culture Amp where he advises global organizations on evidence-based strategies to improve employee and manager experiences through feedback and behavioral insights.

In addition to his applied work, Ethan has taught undergraduate courses at Baruch College, including Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Research Methods, and Statistics for the Social Sciences. He brings a unique blend of academic rigor and practical experience to everything he does, helping organizations turn complex data into clear, actionable strategies that support people and business outcomes alike.
